Outdoor Aluminium Shutters Installation – Elderslie NSW

Outdoor Privacy Shutters for a Modern Entertaining Area

This Elderslie installation transformed an exposed outdoor entertaining area into a private and versatile living space. With neighbouring homes located close by, privacy was a key concern. Custom outdoor aluminium shutters were installed across the entire opening, creating a clean and functional solution without sacrificing airflow or natural light.

Project Overview

The original entertaining area offered little privacy from surrounding properties and limited protection from weather conditions.

By installing custom outdoor aluminium shutters across the full opening along with a Zipscreen, the space was transformed into a more functional outdoor room that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

The shutters create a clean architectural finish while providing complete control over privacy, ventilation and light levels.

Design & Planning

The homeowners had previously been advised that this type of shutter configuration was not possible. Through careful planning and custom design, a solution was developed combining sliding and hinged outdoor aluminium shutters to achieve the desired privacy, access and functionality.

Using site measurements and CAD drawings, the layout was designed with:

  • Four sliding shutter panels across the main opening

  • Hinged access panels on both ends

  • Aluminium Slimline shutter system

  • Dual blade split operation

  • Surf Mist powder coat finish

The CAD drawings allowed the customer to visualise the final layout before manufacture.

Before Installation

The existing alfresco area was open to neighbouring properties and exposed to afternoon sun. While functional, the space lacked privacy and weather protection.

This type of planning enables us to fine tune all the details such as the mid rails lining up on the sliding and hinged shutters.

Split Tilt for Privacy and Ventilation

One of the standout features of this installation is the split tilt blade configuration.

Split tilt shutters allow the upper and lower blades to operate independently. This enables the homeowner to maintain privacy at eye level while still allowing fresh air and natural light to enter from above.

This feature is particularly beneficial in modern residential estates where neighbouring homes are often positioned close together.

The ability to control privacy, ventilation and light independently provides greater flexibility throughout the day.
